The Next Generation of Lower-Limb Orthotic Technology.

Move Naturally Again.

LB2 Technologies is developing a new generation of lower-limb orthoses designed to support natural gait while allowing the foot to function the way it was intended.

Pre-production technology. Not currently available for sale.

Neutral positioning
Designed to help maintain a neutral ankle-foot position during swing.

Heel lift assistance
A patented heel-cup concept is designed to assist heel rise.

Dynamic motion
Designed to support both dorsiflexion and plantarflexion.

◯

Open-bottom architecture
Allows the wearer’s foot to remain in the shoe and participate in gait.

Two models. One design philosophy.

Built to assist motion - not simply block it.

LB2 Technologies is developing two lower-limb orthosis models around the same goal: supporting motion without simply immobilizing the ankle and foot. The Dorsiflexion model is designed to assist foot clearance and neutral positioning during swing.

The taller Plantarflexion model adds extended anterior support and a rigid plantar stiffener intended to assist heel rise and forward progression toward push-off. Both models remain in final development.

01

Dorsiflexion assistance

Designed to help maintain the foot near a neutral 90-degree position as the foot clears the ground during walking and similar movement.

02

Plantarflexion assistance

The anterior stiffener and heel-cup geometry are designed to assist heel rise and forward progression toward push-off.

03

Natural gait focus

The open-bottom concept is intended to preserve more of the foot’s natural role in a heel-to-toe stride than a fully enclosed foot plate.

Dorsiflexion Model

Designed to assist foot clearance and neutral positioning.

The shorter model is intended to help maintain the foot near a neutral 90-degree position while the leg advances during walking and similar movement.

Plantarflexion Model

Extended support for heel rise and forward progression.

The taller model incorporates extended anterior support and a rigid plantar stiffener that reaches high on the shin, together with heel-cup geometry intended to assist progression toward push-off.

How the concept works

Designed around the phases of a normal stride.

Rather than presenting the device as a static brace, LB2 is developing the orthosis around the changing demands of the ankle and foot throughout gait.

1

Foot clearance

The structure is designed to assist dorsiflexion and help hold the foot closer to neutral while the leg advances.

2

Controlled progression

The taller shin section and anterior stiffener are intended to provide support as the lower leg moves forward during mid-stance.

3

Heel rise

The shaped heel portion is designed to help lift the heel as force transfers through the leg portion of the orthosis.

4

Push-off

The open-bottom design is intended to let the foot remain active through footwear as the stride progresses toward the forefoot.

Protected innovation

Built on patented lower-limb orthosis technology.

LB2 Technologies is the assignee of U.S. Patent No. 12,350,181 B2, titled Lower Limb Orthosis, issued July 8, 2025. The patent describes a shell with leg, foot, and heel portions designed to control ankle motion, including configurations that impede dorsiflexion while permitting plantarflexion.

Patent coverage does not by itself establish clinical effectiveness, regulatory clearance, or suitability for any individual user.

Frequently asked questions

What we can share right now.

Are the products available now?

No. The Dorsiflexion and Plantarflexion models are in final development and are not currently available for purchase.

What models are being developed?

LB2 Technologies is currently developing a Dorsiflexion model and a taller Plantarflexion model. Both are shown on this site as pre-production technology.

What is the intended design focus?

The design is focused on lower-limb support that assists ankle-foot positioning and gait mechanics while using an open-bottom architecture intended to keep the wearer’s foot engaged through footwear.
